These cognitive performance supplement statistics highlight the latest figures on brain health supplement market size, U.S. nootropics growth, consumer adoption, and the evidence picture behind common cognitive support products.
The global brain health supplements market was estimated at $10.95 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $23.52 billion by 2030.
The U.S. nootropics market was estimated at $2.81 billion in 2024 and is forecast to reach $4.68 billion by 2030.
Nutrition Business Journal estimated U.S. brain health supplement sales at $1.31 billion in 2024 and $1.48 billion in 2025.
North America accounted for 48.86% of the global brain health supplements market in 2025.
AARP found 67% of adults ages 40 and older regularly took vitamins or supplements in 2023, up from 52% in 2015.
CRN reported that about 75% of U.S. adults used dietary supplements in 2024, showing how mainstream supplement use has become.
Among supplement users age 55 and older, 26% reported regular use of vitamins B6, B9, and B12, while 18% reported regular use of omega-3 EPA+DHA in CRN survey data cited by the CRN Foundation.
The National Institute on Aging says no vitamin or supplement is currently recommended to prevent Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of cognitive decline.
At the same time, recent multivitamin trials found improvements in memory and global cognition in older adults, while a 2024 creatine meta-analysis suggested possible cognitive benefits but not settled proof.

What These Cognitive Performance Supplement Statistics Show
The category is growing fast, but it is not a single clean market. Some reports measure only brain health supplements, while others measure broader nootropics products, so totals can differ depending on whether drinks, powders, gummies, or adjacent wellness products are included.
What looks consistent across sources is the direction of travel. Cognitive support supplements are attracting more consumer attention, nootropics are expanding in the United States, and brain health remains one of the more active condition-based segments inside supplements.
The evidence picture is more mixed than the sales data. Recent multivitamin trials in older adults found modest benefits for memory and global cognition, and creatine has picked up scientific as well as commercial attention. But public health guidance still does not treat any supplement as a proven way to prevent Alzheimer’s disease or broader age-related cognitive decline.
