The Create Trust is a registered UK charity (number 1115157)
Our mission is to enable change in the lives of disadvantaged women and children through education and social development.
Our primary target group is children and women living acutely disadvantaged lives, whether through poverty, circumstance or prejudice.
The Create Trust was set up in March 2005 when the founder, Graham Peebles was asked to run a series of creative education workshops in Sri Lanka, for tsunami affected children. We worked with local and international NGOs in the south of the island, running projects in refugee camps, along with a series of teacher training sessions at the Ruhuna National College of Education, near Galle.
In April 2006 we started working in Ethiopia and established a firm commitment to the country. Education projects were delivered in Addis Ababa for street children and under 18 commercial sex workers, and training programmes for teachers.
The Create Trust has run 29 projects in total since 2005.
We are a small organisation, consisting of trustees, volunteers and a Director, all of whom work from home, keeping administrative costs to a minimum ensuring all funds are used directly to support projects. If you would like to support our work, please see pages: Volunteer and Donate.
